joints!
i suspect more architects would know their names. since i am not one, i feel no shame in identifying only three of ten.
I suppose it should come as no surprise that I was stumped by a question that pinned aesthetic preference versus safety and functionality.
Here, four critical issues are considered - structural integrity, safety from contact, fire safety, and maintenance - and I managed to miss them all and prioritize the spacing and size of the screws holding the assembly together. One might argue that since these issues are close to maintenance and constructability that this is a completely reasonable concern. Nevertheless, design isn't a concern with NCARB.
